What is a Glazing and Window Restrictor Audit?

When it comes to glazing and window restrictors, there are two key pieces of guidance your building must comply with. The Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 states that if any glazing materials break, they cannot threaten the health of building occupants, whilst Part D of the Health Building Note (HBN) 00-10 which applies to healthcare buildings, outlines those vulnerable adults should not be able to force a window restrictor open beyond 100mm.

All existing buildings, components and fitments must be surveyed to identify whether they meet the guidance. Injury caused by non-compliant glazing or window restrictors will be the responsibility of the ‘Duty Holder’.

Why choose Sircle?

Our glazing & window restrictor audit ensures your estate meets all current guidance, including The Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 and Health Building Note (HBN) 00-10.

We can report all internal and external glazing, capture frame construction details, identify, assess and recommend window restrictors, and provide a numerical identification system for all of these components.
